Organizations and Sites
After you install Resolve Insights, you need to define your organizations and sites.
- Organization — The Insights organization can represent your company or organization, or a department inside it. It can also be a tenant in a multi-tenancy environment. Your Insights deployment can have multiple organizations. The organization can contain one or more sites.
- Site — The Insights site represents a physical or virtual site inside an organization. The site contains discoverable devices. A single organizations can have multiple sites.
The organizations and sites that you add appear throughout the Insights interface.
Create Organization and Site
Before you can start using Insights, you need to create at least one organization.
- Log in to Insights as a SuperAdmin.
- Click the + Add Organization button.
- Enter the Organization Name note
After you create the organization, you will not be able to rename it or delete it. Pick your organization's name carefully.
- Enter the Site Name
- Select the DC Group Name from the drop-down list with available data collector groups that you have created during installation.
- Click the + Add Site button to enter the site details.note
After you create the site within the organization, you will not be able to rename it or delete it. You can modify the site name or remove it only during the site creation process.
- Click the Create button to create the organization and the site.
The organization appears as a tile on the home screen.
Organization Tile
The tile contains information about the number of sites created for this organization, as well as the number of devices for each device type (Compute, Storage, and Network) discovered for the organization.
Clicking anywhere in the tile loads the Insights content with the context of the selected organization.
If you want to change the Insights content and see data for another organization, navigate back to the landing page and select another organization tile.
Edit Organization
Editing organization allows you only to add new sites. You cannot rename an organization, or rename or delete sites.
- Log in to Insights as a SuperAdmin.
- Click the organization tile to enter it.
- Click the Edit (wrench) icon next to the organization name of the secondary header.
- Enter the Site Name
- Select the DC Group Name from the drop-down list with available data collector groups that you have created during installation.
- Click the + Add Site button to enter the site details.
- Click the Create button to create the organization and the site.
