Hidden Devices

Introduction​

Discovered devices that are no longer accurate for your system can be hidden from Resolve Insights. They will automatically disaper from the Invenotory, Topology, Applications and Reports. They will be available only under the Hidden Devices page from where you can unhide and bring them back into Insights.

Hidden devices are consideres as non-billable.

Hide a Device​

Devices could be hidden from the following places.

  • Inventory > Device - select the device row/s that you want to hide, click the Actions (gear) icon, select Hide option, review the list of deviced to be hidden and click Hide.
  • Inventory > Duplicate Devices - select the device row/s that you want to hide, click the Hide Devices, review the list of deviced to be hidden and click Hide.

The devices will be moved out of the Inventory table into the Hidden Devices page.

Hidding a device will automatically trigger a push to your CMDB system to mark this CI as Retired.

Unhide a Device​

You can bring any device from the hidden list back into Insights.

  1. Navigate to Inventory > Hidden Devices.
  2. Choose one or more devices that you want to unhide.
  3. Click Unhide Devices
  4. Verify the list of devices that will be unhidden.
  5. Click Unhide

Unhidding a device will automatically trigger a push to your CMDB system to mark this CI as Active.
